Chapter 195 Rumors
Tyler slammed his fist on the table, his anger boiling over as he stared at the blank screen. He had meticulously crafted the post, carefully spreading the rumors that would ruin Athena’s reputation, and now it was gone—vanished without a trace.
“What the hell?!” Tyler growled, furiously refreshing the page. “I spent hours on this!”
His friends murmured among themselves, equally baffled and frustrated by the sudden disappearance of the post. The once lively Internet cafe, filled with the clatter of keyboards and hushed whispers, now felt like a tense battlefield.
“Check again,” one of his friends suggested. “Maybe it’s a glitch.”
But no matter how many times Tyler refreshed, the result was the same—his post was nowhere to be found. The forum had been shut down, and not just for him, but for everyone. It was as if his attempts had been erased in one fell swoop.
Tyler’s heart sank as he realized what had happened.
“The platform… it’s been blocked?” he muttered, his mind racing to figure out who could have done this. “But how? Who has the power to shut down an entire site like this?”
One of his friends, a bit more tech-savvy than the others, peered over Tyler’s shoulder, his eyes widening with realization. “This isn’t just a glitch. Someone… someone shut the whole site down. Like, completely.”
Tyler’s blood ran cold. “Who the hell would do that?”
The friend shook his head, clearly baffled. “I don’t know, man. This is beyond us. It’s like they know what you’re trying to do and stopped you before you could even get started.”
Tyler cursed under his breath, his fists clenching in frustration. He had underestimated someone. But who? And why?
As he sat there, seething in his failure, a single name popped into his mind. Byron.
Byron had the resources, the connections, the power. Tyler’s feud with him had only deepened since the day he had tried to ruin Athena’s life for the house. Byron was not someone Tyler wanted to cross, and it seemed he had just learned that lesson the hard way.
“That bastard…” Tyler muttered, his eyes narrowing. “He’s behind this. It has to be him.”
He gritted his teeth, swearing under his breath. “Fine. If he wants to play dirty, then so will I.”
His friends exchanged uneasy glances but didn’t say anything. They were in too deep now. Whether they liked it or not, they had become part of Tyler’s twisted plan.
“Let’s regroup,” Tyler said, his voice colder now. “We’ll find another way. I won’t let her get away with this.”
But as Tyler plotted his next move, somewhere far from the chaos of the internet cafe, Athena was already one step ahead. She had known Tyler would try something like this, and she had prepared for it. The foundation of her defenses had been laid long ago, and now she would let Tyler make his moves while she silently watched him spiral.
The game had just begun, and she wasn’t about to let him win.
