Bought to Save Her Grandmother(241)

Chapter 241 Being Exposed

Lola’s face drained of color as she stared at Tony, who was now lying on the floor, bruised and bloodied. She had no idea what had happened to him, but the fear in his eyes told her everything she needed to know. He had cracked.

“You… you betrayed me?” Lola whispered, her voice trembling. She couldn’t believe it. Tony, the loyal assistant who had been by her side for so many years, had betrayed her like this. But looking at his beaten face, she knew there was no turning back.

Tony raised his head, his eyes filled with shame and pain. “I had no choice, Madam. He… he knows everything.”

Byron’s cold gaze was fixed on Lola. “You thought you could manipulate me, manipulate the situation, and tear my family apart for your own gain? You used your position to hurt Athena, to make me think she was lying. And for what? So you could control me, control everything?”

Lola’s face flushed with anger. She opened her mouth to protest, to deny everything, but the words stuck in her throat. She couldn’t lie anymore—not when Tony was standing there, telling the truth.

“I did what I had to do,” Lola finally spat, her voice low but venomous. “I never wanted to see you destroyed by her. She’s a manipulative woman, Byron. She’s used you from the start. You’re just too blind to see it.”

Byron shook his head, his eyes narrowing in disbelief. “No, you’re the one who’s blind, Lola. You’re the one who never saw Athena for who she truly was—a good person, someone who cared for me and our children. You saw her as a threat, and you tried to destroy her, even at the cost of my own family.”

Lola’s eyes flashed with a mixture of defiance and desperation. “She lied to you! She—”” Enough!” Byron’s voice rang out, cutting her off sharply. He took a step forward, the rage in his eyes palpable. “She didn’t lie. You did. You’re the one who used lies to manipulate me into believing her children weren’t mine, and look where we are now.”

Lola’s eyes darted to the ultrasound photos in Byron’s hand. Her stomach churned as the reality of the situation hit her. She had played a dangerous game, and now the consequences were crashing down on her. But even as panic began to set in, her mind scrambled for a way out.

“You’ll regret this, Byron. You’ve let her poison your mind, and now you’re throwing everything away. Don’t be so foolish!” Lola snapped, her anger bubbling to the surface once more.

Byron’s jaw tightened. “I don’t need you to tell me what’s foolish, Lola. You’re the one who’s destroyed everything. I’m done with you.”

With those final words, Byron turned on his heel and stormed out of the room, leaving Lola standing there, trembling with rage and fear.

As Byron walked out of Crawford Manor, the weight of everything he had just learned pressed down on him. He couldn’t believe what had just transpired—the lies, the manipulation, the betrayal from his own mother. But at the same time, a part of him felt a sense of clarity. He knew what he had to do now.

He had to find Athena. He had to make things right before it was too late.
