Bought to Save Her Grandmother(95)

Chapter 95 Threatens Her

Baxter cursed Byron inwardly, his anger flaring. It’s all his fault! he thought. He’s about to get married, yet he still keeps Athena around. I can’t give up. I need to get Athena back!

Meanwhile, the Ghost sped down the road. The driver had left, and now Byron was behind the wheel.

“Athena, slow down!” she said, grabbing the seatbelt, her heart pounding in her chest.

“Afraid of dying?” Byron’s voice was cold, his expression dark as ever.

“Of course!” Athena replied, her voice tight with anxiety.

Byron sneered. “Then why dare you act like this with me?”

“What did I do?” Athena was at a loss. “I ran into Baxter by chance. The way you’re imagining things between us is all in your head. I’ve explained everything!”

Byron glanced at her but didn’t respond. He remained silent, a storm brewing in his eyes.

They arrived at his house soon after. Byron preferred peace and quiet, so the staff always left as soon as they finished their work. The house was empty now, save for the two of them.

Byron grabbed Athena’s wrist, pulling her out of the elevator with force. Her wrist ached from the tight grip he had on her.

“Byron, you’re hurting me!” she protested.

Without warning, Byron threw her onto the sofa.

“What’s wrong with you?” Athena managed to sit up, panic creeping in. If he harmed her baby… she would never forgive him.

Byron walked over to her, standing above her, his gaze cold and calculating. He pinched her jaw, forcing her to look at him. “You won’t let me touch you, but you’re out there flirting with other men?”

Athena remained silent, unable to defend herself.

“I spent the whole night thinking about how to make you happy, how to please you. And what do you do? You know exactly how to have fun.” His voice was dripping with venom, as though he wanted to strangle her with his words.

He couldn’t understand why Athena was never satisfied, no matter how much he did for her. He never expected her to go to a bar and flirt with a group of men so blatantly. If he hadn’t been waiting for her message all night, if he hadn’t seen the unread texts in the group chat from his friends, he would have never guessed that the woman he was trying so hard to please had been surrounded by men, waiting for her to pick one.

“It’s not like that!” Athena said, her voice steady but tense. “They’re Evie’s friends!”

“How dare you lie!” Byron’s roar shook the air between them. “Look for yourself!”

He released his grip on her and threw his phone onto the sofa beside her. The screen lit up with a photo Milo had shared in their group chat.

Athena looked up, her eyes flashing. “Are you stalking me?”

Byron’s face twisted with frustration. “I didn’t think about it before. I was just afraid you’d run off. But today, you’ve taught me a lesson.”

His voice turned dark as he gritted his teeth. “From now on, I’ll have someone watch you twenty-four-seven. If you dare flirt with another man, I’ll cut him into pieces.”

“You’re being unreasonable!” Athena’s voice shook with fury. “Since you’re stalking me, why don’t you check the bar’s surveillance footage? I didn’t even take a sip of alcohol. I didn’t do anything wrong!”

“That’s not allowed, either!” Byron’s rage was palpable, the air around them crackling with tension.

“Athena, you’ve exhausted all my patience,” he growled, untying his tie with a deliberate motion.

Athena instinctively shrank back, fear flashing in her eyes. “You said you wouldn’t force me!”

“Of course I won’t,” he replied with chilling calmness, pulling off his tie. “But tell me… was it Evie who invited you to that bar?”

“What do you want?” Athena’s body tensed, her eyes narrowing in suspicion.

Byron’s voice took on a menacing edge. “How should I punish her? Should I start with her stepfather’s factory? Or should I just chop off her hand and be done with it?”

“Byron, don’t do something stupid!” Athena’s voice cracked with fear, her heart racing.

Byron’s expression remained emotionless as he handed her the tie, his gaze cold and calculating. “Then what should you do?”
